Minutes of the ST-Testbeam Run-Meeting - July 9, 2004

General
-------

 - next run meeting on Monday, July 10, 15:00

 - stable beam, pulsehape scan has been finished
   for 75%. One Beetle in CMS ladder does not respond
   anymore.


Report from yesterday untill 15:00 today
----------------------------------------

 - Pulse shape scans have been made for
   the following settings:
         Vfs = 400, HV = V2
         Vfs = 100, HV = V2
         Vfs = 100, HV = V1

 - one Beetle in the CMS reference ladder has gone
   dead. We have tried to tweak the cables, but to
   no avail...

Measurement program (aka todo list)
-----------------------------------

 - bring/keep documentation up to date

 - log all actions in the *** logbook *** and/or
   in the *** spreadsheet ***

   don't forget to document
     - beam conditions
     - voltages
     - currents
     - temperatures

   These parameters should be logged once per hour,
   NOT only once per HV point!


Plans:
-----

  - Complete the pulse shape scan.
    That is, Vfs = 400, HV = V1.


  - replace the LHCb-1-Irrad with
    the LHCb-1-Irrad2 ladder (30 years
    of LHCb-equivalen irradiation dose).

  - perform an HV scan for this ladder

  - when time permits, choose the HV (V2)
    setting with a reasonable
    leakage current at a reasonable S/N value,
    and do a pulse shape scan measurement for
    Vfs = 400. Then the same
    for Vfs = 400 and HV = 475 for LCHb-1-Irrad2.

Results:
-------

Helge has analysed some of the data,
and compared it to last years test-beam
results.

In Figure 1 (hvscan_cms_03_04.ps), one can see
a comparirson of the high-voltage scan. Here it
seems that last year we obtained a slightly
better signal/noise value. However, note that
we have also observed a very equivalent value
for S/N for the two cases. In Figure 2,
a similar result for the reference LHCb-1 sensor.
Finally, in Figure 3, the pulse shape scans for
the LCHb-1 and CMS sensors has been compared to
the ones from last year. A very good agreement is
found for the CMS ladder, while it seems that the
remainder is less for the LCHb-1 ladder this year.
