Fitting a Landau, convolved with Gaussian
- ROOT macro
- This is the standard example you find in ROOT with one change
- In landau theory the scale and MPV are related
- ie they are not free parameters
- Therefore I fit for MPV and constrain the scale to such that
MPV/scale is that expected in Landau theory
- This is the logically correct thing to do if you believe Landau
theory
- This remove the problem that scale and gaussian width are
corellated in a free fit. Therefore a more reliable estimate
of the Gaussian sigma is made
- The ratio of scale to MPV is set by #define in the macro
- Nota Bene, the Gaussian var = var_noise + var_binding
